As Tennessee looks ahead to the 2024-25 College Football Playoff, one glaring flaw may ultimately prevent them from making a deep run: their inconsistent quarterback play. While the Vols boast a high-powered offense, highlighted by dynamic weapons like running back Jabari Small and wide receiver Squirrel White, the quarterback position remains a source of uncertainty.
In 2023, Tennessee experienced flashes of brilliance under quarterback Joe Milton, but his inconsistency was evident, especially in high-pressure situations. Milton’s arm strength is unquestioned, but his accuracy, decision-making, and ability to perform in critical moments have been inconsistent.
