In the Atlanta Falcons’ 38-6 blowout loss to the Denver Broncos, rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr. made his second NFL appearance. With the game out of reach in the fourth quarter, Penix replaced Kirk Cousins, completing two of four passes for 24 yards over two drives. The Falcons opted to run out the clock on his final possession.
Despite Penix’s late action, the team reaffirmed its commitment to Cousins as the starter. The loss drops Atlanta to 6-5 but maintains their slim NFC South lead
