Alabama wide receiver Jaren Hamilton has announced his intention to enter the NCAA transfer portal after two seasons with the Crimson Tide. Hamilton, a former four-star recruit from Buchholz High School in Gainesville, Florida, was part of Alabama’s 2023 recruiting class. Despite his high school accolades, he saw limited action during his tenure in Tuscaloosa.
In the 2023 season, Hamilton appeared in two games against Middle Tennessee and Chattanooga, allowing him to redshirt under NCAA rules. The following year, he participated in four games, contributing on both offense and special teams, but did not record any statistics. According to Pro Football Focus, Hamilton logged 30 offensive snaps and 12 special teams snaps during the 2024 season.
Hamilton’s decision to transfer comes shortly after Alabama’s 19-13 loss to Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl. With three years of eligibility remaining, he will seek opportunities to make a more significant impact at another program. As a high school prospect, Hamilton was ranked as the No. 60 wide receiver and No. 76 player in Florida for the 2023 cycle.
The NCAA transfer portal’s winter window is scheduled to open on December 9, 2024, for a 20-day period, during which Hamilton and other players can officially enter and explore new opportunities.
