The club announced last month that Itumeleng Khune will not return as a player next season. The 36-year-old goalkeeper played his final match for the club in May and is one of seven Kaizer Chiefs players whose contracts expired at the end of this month. Khune has denied retirement rumors and is eager to continue playing for another two or three years, even if it’s not with Amakhosi.
Another notable departure is Keagan Dolly. The former Bafana Bafana midfielder has been plagued by injuries during his three-year tenure with the Glamour Boys. His contract is set to expire in a few weeks, but there are reports that he might be offered a new deal with a pay cut.
