“To be the best team over 30 games, you need consistent performance, understanding that the league’s leading team sets high standards in terms of points every season,” the Orlando Pirates coach told FARPost.
“In my view, it’s about our players and staff becoming more mature. That maturity involves accepting the challenge every few days, not just occasionally. This is what differentiates a team that can truly contend for the league title.
The coach also believes that the club has the necessary resources but needs to excel in mentality and teamwork.
“We have everything else: the talent, the opportunities, the resources. Everything is in place. It’s up to us, as a group, to foster that culture and mentality to embrace the challenge every two or three days, regardless of the opponent or circumstances. We need to ensure we get the results. We’re working towards that. Unfortunately, this season, we were not always good enough and sometimes, we lacked luck,” the Orlando Pirates coach added.
