“Angel Reese Set for WNBA Debut with Chicago Sky Against Dallas Wings; Sky Bolsters Roster with Top Draft Picks Reese and Cardoso for 2024 Season”
Former LSU standout and National Champion Angel Reese is poised to make her WNBA debut on Wednesday (May 15) with the Chicago Sky as they face off against the Wings in Dallas.
In an effort to revamp their team this offseason, the Sky selected Reese as the seventh overall pick, making her the second Top 10 pick for the team in the draft. Banking on the strength of the SEC, the Sky also drafted Kamilla Cardoso from South Carolina at No. 3.
Coach Teresa Weatherspoon expressed her excitement, stating, “This is like a chess match, and we’ve managed to acquire every player we aimed for. It’s a thrilling moment for us, the city, and the Chicago Sky organization.”
Following a 2021 WNBA championship, Chicago is counting on Reese and Cardoso to help steer the franchise back to the top after a disappointing 18-22 season last year.
