Nikola Jokić's brother reportedly involved in altercation after Lakers- Nuggets game | Nikola Jokić | The Guardian

Following Game 2 against the LA Lakers, Nikola Jokic’s brothers were allegedly involved in an altercation with fans in the crowd. Following this news, a social media post has gone viral about the two-time MVP being suspended.

While the post might look legit, the information in it is false. Nikola Jokic has not been suspended for Game 4 due to the video potentially involving his brothers. The account was made to resemble Adrian Wojnarowski’s, but a closer look reveals that it is fake.

In the clip that has since gone viral, two fans are seen arguing in the crowd. As they continue to exchange words, one works his way towards the other. Once they are face to face, a large man in a Jokic jersey throws a punch at the other. Things are quickly de-escalated as the men are separated from one another.

Despite this altercation allegedly involving his brothers, Jokic is not facing a punishment from the NBA. He will be in the lineup for the Nuggets for Game 4 as they attempt to complete a first-round sweep on the LA Lakers.

While Nikola Jokic isn’t set to face any punishment for this incident, that doesn’t mean the same for his brother. After the clip of the fight went viral, Denver Police stated they plan to investigate the altercation.

In the statement they put out, the authorities stated that no victim has come forward. However, they still plan to look into what happened during Game 2 between the Denver Nuggets and LA Lakers.

“At this time, no one has come forward as a victim of this incident,” the email said. “The Department is looking into this incident, is actively working to identify the person in the video who was struck, and encourages anyone who was involved or witnessed this firsthand to contact the Denver Police Department.”

This is not the first time the Jokic brothers have been involved in an off-court situation. Back in 2021, they were in a social media feud with Cleveland Cavaliers forward Marcus Morris. The whole situation began because Jokic hit Markieff Morris from behind during a game.

As of now, there is no news on a possible punishment Nikola Jokic’s brother could face for his reported involvement in this fight. Since nothing has come about yet, his brothers will likely remain in attendance at games as the Nuggets look to win a second straight championship.
