Ohio State five-star quarterback commit earns invite to Elite 11 Finals
COLUMBUS, Ohio — It was a mere formality, but five-star Ohio State quarterback Tavien St. Clair was officially invited to the Elite 11 Finals on Sunday afternoon.
The newly-minted five-star prospect is the No. 17 overall player, the No. 4 quarterback and the No. 1 player in the state of Ohio in the 2025 class. St. Clair committed to the Buckeyes last year, and has since been a big part of the future and what future Buckeye recruiting classes look like.
The first week of the Spring transfer portal has come and gone without much excitement for the Ohio State football team. That doesn’t mean that things did not happen. The Spring window has traditionally not been an impactful one. The Buckeyes did grab starting offensive tackle Josh Simmons last year from it, but it usually is pretty quiet.

Former Buckeye defensive back finds a new home
Former four-star safety recruit in the class of 2023, Cedrick Hawkins, has found a new school to play for. He will be heading back home to the state of Florida as he has chosen to play for UCF. Hawkins was a bit of a surprise for entering the portal, but with Caleb Downs entering the program and Lathan Ransom opting to stay in school, he probably felt like the path to playing time would take longer than anticipated.
Hawkins did not enter a game last season for the Buckeyes as a true freshman and only lost his black strip last December. Hopefully, things work out for him as he heads back down south to the state of Florida.
Former Buckeye RB takes a visit out west
Former Ohio State running back Dallan Hayden made a visit to see Coach Prime out in Colorado over the weekend. Hayden would be an interesting fit for the Buffs as pairing his tough-nosed running style with Shedeur Sanders would be an ideal pairing for Colorado.
Hayden has no shortage of suitors however as he clearly is one of the top running backs in the Spring window. His suitors include Colorado, Georgia Tech, Louisville, UCLA, Auburn, and Virginia Tech.
